Happy St. Patricks Day!

Mike has fond memories of listening to his grandfather Mullin speaking with a thick Irish brogue. He came over from Ireland when he was in his 20's and started a new life here in America! Imagine his great grandchildren dressing in green and celebrating all things Irish.Of course - a green breakfast. A little of this helps....

Melissa has a new blanket - with pigs on it of course! She is thrilled.

She even got 2 pillows to match.

How did she get so lucky? The Summit School Auction!

Every year we have an amazing fund raiser for the school. Parents and businesses donate and then they buy back (at amazing prices) what they have donated. This year they raised $30,000.00. Great!
Well the bidding is fun and usually everything goes for hundreds of dollars. We bid on lots of stuff but never win because a $25 item goes for like $300. So when this blanket came up, I told Mike lets just bid once - the first bid for $100. It has Olivia the pig on it. It will make Melissa feel good that we tried to win a pig blanket for her. Then for sure we will be outbid by one of the parents whose kid made the blanket in his class.
No one bid after us. NOT ONE PERSON. So we got $100 blanket for Melissa!

She is thrilled and feels very loved.

Skiing Surprise

Today we took the kids for another day of skiing. The weather was windy and cold. Thank goodness for goggles! But the last hour it cleared up and we had beautiful scenery and a lot of fun. I love hanging out with Megan and Melissa - 10 and 11. The best age! So much fun and so willing to spend time with us.

Andrew is an awesome snowboarder and I loved looking down from the lift and seeing him having a great run. Megan and Melissa are terrific skiers too. They waited for me at the end of every run - because I am cautious and therefore slow. But I did not fall...

Sadly Katie did not feel well so she stayed home. We missed her.

So the surprise came when we got home. After she took a nap, Katie got busy. She cleaned the house and made us dinner - complete with hot homemade cinnamon rolls. It was on the table when we got home. She is 14 and so capable. I was really proud of her.

Wow! Thanks so much Katie. You are a terrific daughter and a very capable cook!

My Husband Loves Me!

Wow! Lucky me - Mike and I bought a beautiful piano! We have been shopping for about 20 years... I have always wanted a grand piano. I love to play and the girls are becoming such wonderful musicians that we decided that now was the time to get a great instrument in the home. It is seriously a dream to play. It sounds fabulous and there is not a scratch on it. I even enjoy dusting it!

Because this is important to me - Mike made it important to him. He seriously has shopped for a piano with me for the last 20 years (mostly window shopping.) Just goes to show you that if you have a dream......
