YW Ice Blocking

Goodbye to the Holdaways too….

Our dear friends across the street for 14 years are moving to California.  We have known them thru kids and law school, preschool, church callings, book club.  I have borrowed from Michelle’s kitchen so many times.  I will miss them so much.

I worked with Liza in YW as president of the MiaMaids.  Darling girl.  So down to earth and sensible as a teenager, so dependable and responsible.  And smart!  We had a fun YW get together to say goodbye and good luck.

We had an ice blocking activity.  Towels on a block of ice to sit on, so much fun.  And it was a balancing act to get to the bottom of the hill.  Wholesome recreational activity.  We talked about how it would be a fun date.

The boys joined us for the activity.  Dallas was a trooper but Wes just wanted to watch.  He is a scardy cat.  Blue was only there for the kisses…

Tammy and Toby visit!

We used some Southwest miles to plan a little vacation for Tammy and Toby to come home with the boys.  It’s been since November and we are missing them! It is so fun to have the toys out, the house crowded and lots of family noise!  It’s surprising how much they know about using the i-pad and the kindle.  Of course they hang with Lissy.  She is the best playmate ever!

Mike took all the boys in the family for a boys night out at the race track.  He took hearing protection knowing that it would be loud.  So much fun for Dallas and Wes to see the cars racing around the track.  Of course, Dallas wanted the blue cars to win all the time!

Cookies from Lovey

I hate not living close to the boys.  I miss them so much.  Miss being part of the everyday-ness of their lives.  I decided to make them cookies for St. Patrick’s Day.  It is just so fun to imagine them opening a package and being happy eating cookies.  (I should probably think of something besides sugar to send to them…)  I sent some cookies and candy to Mom and Dad too.  She has such a sweet tooth and is always looking for a sweet snack.

Funny story, Tammy got a package this week from Amazon and when she brought in the box Wes asked her, “Cookies Mom?”  Melt. My. Heart.

Happy Birthday Wes

DSC_5613

We celebrated everything early while the kids were home.  Wes was turning two (a sad thing because he can’t fly for free anymore) so we had a birthday celebration for him.  He is such a fun and beautiful boy.  I love his teasing eyes, his getting into things, his sweetness to Blue, his sweet tooth, his drama…  Wes a Mess, Oh my sweet Wesley.  So glad to have him in this family.

Happy Birthday Wes!
