YW Ice Blocking
Goodbye to the Holdaways too….
Our dear friends across the street for 14 years are moving to California. We have known them thru kids and law school, preschool, church callings, book club. I have borrowed from Michelle’s kitchen so many times. I will miss them so much.
I worked with Liza in YW as president of the MiaMaids. Darling girl. So down to earth and sensible as a teenager, so dependable and responsible. And smart! We had a fun YW get together to say goodbye and good luck.
We had an ice blocking activity. Towels on a block of ice to sit on, so much fun. And it was a balancing act to get to the bottom of the hill. Wholesome recreational activity. We talked about how it would be a fun date.
The boys joined us for the activity. Dallas was a trooper but Wes just wanted to watch. He is a scardy cat. Blue was only there for the kisses…

Happy Birthday Dallas!
We planned a trip to Boise for Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate Dallas’ 4th birthday. It was so fun to be there to help with his party and spend time with the kids. (When they left our house earlier this month, it made it easier to say goodbye at the airport knowing that we would see each other again in two weeks.)
It turned out to be just Mike, Melissa and I going down. We got a hotel and the boys enjoyed swimming at the pool.
We had all sorts of weather. On Saturday it was cold and rainy. By Monday it was hot and sunny!
Saturday was the big party day. Tammy had everything planned and ready for a CAMPING BIRTHDAY party. She made birthday shirts with heat press vinyl and her silhouette for the party boys to wear. (Camp Four is actually a place in Yosemite National Park.) The boys looked so awesome and cute in them!
Then Dallas and her put together a campfire cake! Toby set up the tent and Papa and Toby set up the fire pit. This party had everything a little boy could want. Tent, dirt, fire, candy, paint, smores, hotdogs on the grill – so much fun.
Cute goodie bags for his friends with fun stuff inside.
Everyone stayed because we were having so much fun, sitting around the fire talking and making smores. Such a fun celebration of Dallas!
We celebrated his birthday again on Sunday because that was the actual day! Dallas had a sleep over at the hotel with Lovey and Papa. What a special little 4 year old. We love him so much. Thanks for making me a grandma!!!
It was hard to leave them on Monday. With a crazy job change coming up and a move, it will be a wild summer and who knows when we will be together again.
