First Day of School in Eagle

The girls got cheated out of a week of summer because the schools in Eagle start in August.  So we drove down on Sunday and got things ready for school to start on Tuesday.  They were nervous!  (Megan listened to Taylor Swift’s song “Fifteen” about first day of high school over and over the night before…) That morning Katie drove herself and Megan to the high school and I drove Melissa to the Middle School.  Lots of traffic and nerves!  These girls are brave!  They ate lunch with the kids from the neighborhood.  One of the nicest compliments came from Trevor Kramer when the girls were complaining about the girls being standoffish.  He said, “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but you guys are all very pretty and the other girls are probably jealous….”  Such a sincere comment from him.  Very nice kid!

Fun with Friends

This whole summer we have tried to have fun with friends, knowing that we are moving in August.  So the girls have had several parties and get togethers.  They have such great friends here.  I’ve tried to take tons of photos of all the people we love.

Yes that is my grand piano under that fort.  Melissa and Sophie were destined to be friends.  They are perfect for each other.

Megan got into the habit of disappearing up into the attic with her friends.  Privacy I guess.  They even slept there one night.  Just don’t hit your head.

Mica Peak YM and YW

Our last YM YW get together before we moved we brought the camera to capture our friends.  It’s hard to imagine life in a different ward.  I’ve watched so many of these kids grow up.  Moving is crazy and hard.

Family Photo Shoot

Do I dare tell the story of this photo shoot?  Oh my goodness, we are a crazy family.  Andrew slept in and was late, so we were all there but Andrew.  I started taking single shots of the girls hoping for good school pictures.  Then Mike went home, tired of waiting, and of course, Andrew came.   Then we had everyone but Mike. So I started taking pictures of the kids together. Then Mike came back and we had the whole family but Mike was mad at Andrew, and Andrew was mad at Mike.  Everyone was stressed.  Mom was just hoping for a forced smile and a photo good enough for a Christmas Card.  Stress and human nature galore….  We laugh now but not then…It is amazing that we were able to capture our beautiful, normal, dysFUNctional, crazy family…

We are a happy family… sometimes….

Photo Shoot at Rocky Hill Park

Jayna opened up a whole bunch of fun when she introduced me to Rocky Hill Park. I took Katie there for a quick photo shoot one day. Then we took all her friends there for a ‘goodbye’ photo shoot. So much fun! We spent an hour and a half just goofing off with six of her good friends. Then I dragged the whole family there for family pics. So we really took advantage of a great photo spot….

Photo Shoot with Jenny

Jenny came along when we took Jayna’s senior pictures so we took a few photos of her too.  School pictures are so expensive and they never turn out great so this year we decided to just take them ourselves.  They turned out great.  Those are some blue eyes!!
