Megan’s Beautiful New Room

Megan is working so hard on her personal progress planning on finishing before her birthday.  She decided to redo her room for her Divine Nature value project.  It was definitely a 10 hour project and such a learning experience.  Melissa was her helper 100% of the way. 

Megan did all the planning, designing, and the work.  I am so impressed with her creative abilities.  WOW!  Her room is amazing and looks just like the wonderful, artistic teenage girl she is.  Love Love Love how everything turned out.

The tree is hand painted and magnetic so she can stick things to it.  Megan we are so proud of you.  So very impressed.  Yeah for Megan!

We started with hours of shopping for just the right bedding and accessories.  Very tiring.

Next was spray painting everything red to  accent her black and white theme.  Way to “repurpose” her white mirror and night stand and picture frames…  Very smart.

Next, Megan designed the tree that she envisioned.  ( I had no clue, she just kept describing this tree spreading over her wall.) She learned a lot from her art class last semester.  She sketched it out on a long piece of wrapping paper and taped it on the wall to trace.

Next, the fun part.  We hung up all the new accessories that she picked out.  Got rid of her dresser in exchange for these baskets, put the new bedding on her brand new full sized bed. 

A master piece!  Everything turned out so beautiful!  Good job Megan!

YM/YW Stop Motion Video

Megan is still working on her personal progress.  She made a stop motion video detailing the rules and standards of Stake Dances as her Choice and Accountability project.  She worked hard to get all the Miamaids and Teachers involved.  We showed it at the February combined activity.  She did such a great job including everyone.  Megan is soooo dang good with the technical stuff.  I’m so proud of her.

Megan joined Color Guard

Cute Megan has found her niche!  She has joined high school Color Guard.  I couldn’t help but get out my old high school jacket and have her try it on.  She did winter guard which is half time performances during basketball games.  But this fall will be performances and practices with the band during football games.  It will be fun to see her march.  She loves twirling her flag.

Winter Formal–Katie and Derik

Derik has been Katie’s good friend since the grade school Ables program.  He asked her to go to the Winter Formal dance.  Very creative invitation.

Julie came over for hair and makeup.  That girl is amazing!  She is always so happy to help make Katie’s dates so fun.  Katie was beautiful for sure!

I’m so glad that Katie is having fun in high school.  She is a beautiful girl. 

Katie’s Concert

Katie’s friend Krista gave her tickets to the Brad Paisley/ Scotty McCreery concert for her birthday.  She has been excitedly waiting since then for this day.  Katie has loved Scotty since he was first on American Idol.  Such a cute kid.  So she was thrilled to go.  Fun time!  Fun t-shirt too.
