Kool Aid Hair

Megan has been begging for so long to dye her hair.  She actually wants to be brunette.  So ironic because she has the most beautiful strawberry blonde hair with amazing streaks and color.  Especially in the summer.  BUT – she wanted to use Kool Aid to dye her hair red!  She even bought the packages of Kool Aid.  So Tammy was willing to help and I relented my standards.  One night at midnight we got crazy and did it.

Megan was first.  Very brave!

The directions are to mix the powdered Kool Aid with conditioner and work through the hair, wrap with saran wrap, secure with tape and let it sit all night.  Then wash out twice and condition.  Megs looked it up on Wikihow…    These are Megan’s notes on how to do it.  Notice the “lifelong dream fu-filled!”

Next was Melissa because it is pete and repete you know.  Anything Megan does, Melissa does and vice a versa… What do you think Dallas?

Wow – red heads!

Trip to Boise

We love our summertime schedule!  Finally out of school and free enough to drive to Boise to visit Tammy and Toby.

One of the perks of living in an apartment is the POOL!  The girls love to swim everyday, either with Dallas or with their favorite pool partner – TOBY.  He makes it fun for them by throwing them or racing with them, or diving for quarters.

We went to a great splash park too and Dallas had a great time with the slides and the shallow water.  He loves water!  Tammy loved the extra help in watching the boys and keeping them safe. 

 

The Wes man loves water too.  He either chills on the side of the pool or gets in and floats around.  We were really careful with sunscreen and no one got a sunburn.  We discovered that Dallas gets tan really fast – just like both his parents.

Waffles, Pancakes, Costco muffins for breakfast.  Yummy.

Dallas loves to play with the “girls.”  He is learning so many new words.  He says Meg pretty good.  This week he added some 2 syllable words – temple and happy.

Spending the day with friends

The girls had friends over to celebrate the start of SUMMER!  Kennedy came from Seattle for a visit too!  Megan and Melissa have several friends that are sisters - close in age just like themselves and we have talked about having a sister party someday. Sophie and Natalie - Haley and Paige - Maddie and Ali…

This time Sophie and Natalie and spent the day with us at the beach in Coeur D’Alene, went to Aunt Carol’s for an outdoor movie and then had a sleep over.  Whew! (Megan had an allergy attack at Carol’s from the field grass so she had swollen eyes the next day.  Poor girl.

EFY for Katie

This week Katie and her good friend Stephanie went to Tacoma for EFY.  They planned it way back in January and were so excited to go!  Living in college dorms for a week, being with 400 other youth their age and learning more about living the gospel.  Sounds like so much fun!  I am so glad she had this experience.  Just some pics of Katie and Stephanie.  They had a lot of classes together freshman year and have become good good friends.  Alike in craziness, smarts and beauty!

Julie Has a New Puppy!

Oh boy – this is Megan’s dream!  To have a little dog.  Julie came down to introduce us to Bandit her new puppy.  I swear this little dog weighs like 1 pound!  So tiny.  Like a kitten!   Jenny loves him too.  Even Grandma got in on the action.  She loves dogs anyway.  She always says if Dad dies she is getting a big dog to make her feel safe… I guess this one won’t do. Julie – is this your way of getting ready for a baby?  Dallas wasn’t sure at first.  Hello little moving, soft thing…. Oh – I guess you are okay.  Carol being the stylish one put him in her purse.  Watch out all you Hollywood girls with your purse dogs….

Toby and Tammy Come!

The welcoming committee – Megs and Lis laying on the front sidewalk waiting for….the boys….  They love visits from Wesley and Dallas.  They show them off at school to their friends.  Megan with her best friends Miranda Hill and Paige Tucker. Melissa’s decade project – serving popcorn at the movies. These boys are so fun.  The girls always play with them nonstop.  No wonder Dallas loves to come to Grandma Lovey’s house. Liberty Lake garage sale day – same day as graduation.  Tons of people and traffic!  Crazy day. 

Tammy found a great deal.  100 cars for $10.  Score! Grandma found a table and chair set for Dallas.  So he is happy playing with his new cars on his new table.    Oh the boys do fun things when they come to Grandma’s house.  This computer is big huh Dallas? Wesley is the best cuddle bug!  Katie is loving the attention.
