Spending the day with Mom

Mom and I went to Manito Park one day while she was here.  Just a little field trip out to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful flowers in the park.  We started at the Japanese Gardens.  So peaceful and calm.  Mother so enjoyed the “red trees” and the fish in the pond.  DSC_2398 DSC_2403 DSC_2408 DSC_2409

Then we went in the conservatory to look at amazing flowers and cacti in the greenhouse. Very interesting! Mom has always loved flowers – I guess all women do.  She was remembering planting the beautiful impatients on the path to the pool in New Jersey. Their yard is always beautiful with flowers. Then we went to Duncan gardens.  They had just planted so everything was small.  But in a few weeks….it will be beautiful.  This reminds me of the castles and “jardins” in France with the way the flower beds are laid out so symmetrical.  We came here last year for my birthday.  Maybe I’ll make it a tradition. Next the perennial gardens.  Mom loves the lilacs. She told me that her mother had lilac bushes.  DSC_2445 DSC_2446The iris’ were almost done blooming.  Mom calls these “flags.”   DSC_2451 DSC_2465Does she look small.  All 94 pounds of her?  We tried to get her to eat.  She did gain a few pounds while she was here.
