SHOEPALOOMA! Stinky Sneaker 2013

I have had Stinky Sneaker shirts come through the laundry for 17 years now. From Tammy on down to every one of my kids. Each year they design an awesome shirt to go with a creative theme for this huge Basketball Rivalry between U-high and CV. This year, Mike and I decided to go down to the arena and watch. It was so fun to see the school spirit and watch the crowds. Katie was in the dance and Megan and Melissa were in the student section screaming and cheering all night! SHOEPALOOMPA!

TOLO - not sure what that stands for

TOLO is a girl ask guy dance at the high school.  Katie got a group of friends together, they planned their matching outfits - surfer boy and girl shirts in various colors, and had a great night together.  Katie and I designed the shirts on the silhouette and we decided not to use HTV because of the expense.  It was ok but didn't stick nearly as well as Andrew's did for Halloween.  I got some cute pics of the couples.  Fun project!

 

Melissa made the Central Valley Gymnastics Team!

We are so excited for Melissa!  She tried out and made the High School gymnastics team.  She has been jumping on the trampoline since she was born and it has all paid off!  She is so excited.  Actually, she tried out for volleyball in the fall and was so disappointed that she did not get put on the team.  But it allowed her schedule to be free enough to take a gymnastics class and learn some tumbling.  She loves it and is a natural.  Now she is able to use these skills on the high school team.  We are excited to see her in a meet.  Practice every day after school and some Saturdays.  Go Melissa!

Katie Has Become a Runner!

Katie decided to join cross country with school this fall.  A new thing for her!  I had never been to a track meet or a cross country race before.  It has been fun to see her involved in a sport again since the knee injury during soccer Freshman year.  She has struggled with a pain in her side - we ruled out appendicitis - and so she's had to quit early on a few races.  We bought a cowbell to cheer her on!  This was a beautiful fall day in Compton Park on South Hill.  Her coach was so proud of her!  Go Katie!!!

Homecoming 2012

Katie came home from work one night to a message on our garage door....  an invitation to Homecoming.  Such a fun part of her high school experience.  She has gone to every dance since she turned 16!  This time it is Brett Siddoway. Cute kid.  We've known him since church nursery - 3 years old! 

COLORGUARD!!

Megan has been working so hard at summer band camp and after school practice in her new endeavor - ColorGuard! How fun to have her do what I did in school. I remember the fun of football games and flags and marching with the band. Jenny is doing it too. They get to wear their warm ups to school on the days that they have a game.  Megs has met so many new friends and had such great opportunities to travel and compete.  I helped with the food during one of the competitions and during band camp with Jenna Lake and Heidi Stewart.  We are having fun going to the games on Friday nights to see a terrific half time show!

 Megan has zero hour so we're up at 5:45 am.....  yuck.  Actually, I love being up, hate getting up.  I enjoy the time with Megs and then some quiet time before the rest of the house is up.
