EFY

Katie was home for about 24 hours and took off again – this time to Seattle to EFY with Breanna.  So much fun to see those two excited about the independence of a road trip and a week of everything YOUTH.  Katie is a great girl.  It’s nice to be able to trust her, give her the car and depend on her to do the right things.  We will miss her for a week!

Youth Conference–We Believe in Being Leaders!

We came home from Boise and within 14 hours we were on our way again to Youth Conference.  Just an overnighter up to Diamond Lake with the Stake.  It was fun to be with the youth and see the girls interact with their friends.  We have such tremendous leaders and youth in our Stake.  It was fun to spend time with them.

It was not fun to sleep on the cafeteria floor, but talking with Christy Chamberlain until the wee hours of the night is a great memory.  The theme was this puzzle which half the kids figured out in 3 seconds and the other half had creative guesses.  Jameson Lake was sure that Leaders Make Good Muffins was the first part of this.  Maybe not Jameson…  but I’ll bet your mom does.  (make good muffins…)DSC_1232DSC_1233

Meeting little Blue

The girls got to meet Harrison Blue for the first time.  He is 6 weeks old already!  I feel lucky to have been able to see him born and then visit again not too long after.  He changes so fast.  What a little bit of heaven – such a sweet little guy.

So amazing to think that my baby has 3 babies now.  Seems like yesterday… it really does that she was just a kid.  Now she is the best mom and wife ever and I am so proud of her.

Pool Party

Took the boys to a public pool one day.  Had to stand in line in the hot hot sun to get in and only 10 people after us got in.  There is a limit of 400 people.  Lucky us…  Toby and the girls had fun on the slides.  Between us all there was always someone to watch Harrison and keep Dallas and Wesley from drowning…  It was a hot and fun day.  But we learned we have to be  more careful with spray on sunscreen because we kinda got burned.

Outdoor Living

So much fun to eat outside and play in the front yard on the grass.  These boys love to be outside.  Tammy and Toby have an awesome garden and patio in the back.  We had dinner and breakfast out there.  And the front porch is perfect for hanging out too and watching the boys play on the grass.  I love the summer time when our living space includes the outdoors!

Fun with the boys

DSC_1045I didn’t even know Megan  and Melissa packed this.  How fun to paint the boys faces.  Tammy used to do this with them with they were little.DSC_1047DSC_1048DSC_1049

Spur of the Moment Trip to Boise

On Father’s Day we came home from church, gave presents to Dad and took off to Boise.  We were going to wait until Monday but Dad was not sentimental so we decided to get there a day early.  DSC_1397It was so fun to see how Harrison had changed and to play with the boys again.  It is really a quick trip with summer light the whole way almost.  We left at 3 and got there at 10.

Best Carpool Ever

I’m going to miss this phase of life.  It has been so fun to drive in a Summit School carpool everyday for the last 6 years.  This year was especially fun.  John was the only boy and he is so patient with the perfume and music and teasing and slug bug games.  This school year went by too fast and I’m sad my kids are growing up.  Megan is done with middle school – on to high school and Melissa is on to 8th grade!
