Home from Camp!

 

Lots of laundry and naps and warm showers!  Melissa had a great time with the Sunshine Daises!  Megan learned some new hair styles.  And Katie came home and slept!  They all made  new friends and had a great time.  Melissa even made a cute scrapbook.

 

Visiting Girls Camp

We went up as a YW presidency one night to see the girls at camp.  It was so fun to see how my girls were so well adjusted and enjoying the camp experience.  It was Bishop’s night so they were all dressed up and decked out in crazy outfits.  I’m so glad I took my camera! I got to see Diane working in the kitchen with Julie Ward.  And Bishop Reed and his wife Ann were there.  I got a picture of Christy Chamberlain and Stephanie Walters – the sisters I serve with.  When I first got there I did not recognize Melissa.  Wow! 

  

     

Girls Camp

I have 3 daughters going to camp this week!  I can’t believe it.  All the years I went to camp and left them home, now they are going and leaving me home! Melissa is a bit apprehensive about her first year.  Megan is super excited to go again for her 2nd year.  And Katie is a pro as a fourth year!

Boys and Dirt… on ATV’s

One Saturday in July, Mike and Andrew took off for the day to enjoy the ATV’s.  They joined some friends and drove about 45 minutes into Idaho for some trail riding at Farragut State Park.  (So beautiful and so close to home.  Got to love the Northwest!)  They all stopped for something to eat at the Happy Hermit – a little eating place off the trails that you ride your ATV’s or snowmobiles into depending on the season of the year.  Notice the Steelers sign out front.  (In the middle of an Idaho State Park – Steelers Pride, Nationwide!)  Anyway, the boys came back tired and dirty and happy!  A fun day!

Family Home Evening

Mike sarcastically calls this “Family Home Beatings”  along the lines of “the beatings will continue until moral improves” I guess.  Anyway tonight for Family night we really did involve the violence previously only inferred.  We decided to have a water balloon fight. (Megan’s idea)  We found out soon enough that little water balloons hurt when someone throws them at you!  Like really hurt!  So when Katie dissolved into tears and Andrew left bruises we called it quits.  We decided it would be safer to sit around the fire pit all wet and barefoot.

We found these huge marshmallows in McCall.  I mean they are about 4 marshmallows put into one.  So we made monster s’mores and family home evening turned out okay!  We all felt better after 3 cups of sugar…

McCall Family Fun

We had another great vacation to McCall this year.  Got away for just 4 days but made the most of it!  We enjoyed the Presidential Suite and felt very spoiled with all the extras! The hot tub on the porch was not hard to get used to.  Megan takes the award for liking this the most – or at least spending the most amount of time relaxing in it! Sunday we watched the world cup and then took a walk on the beach at Lake Payette.  We found ice cream alley again and enjoyed their yummy ice cream. 

A steak dinner to celebrate Dad’s birthday!  And then ice skating the next day for the girls. Our new hair style!  Katie noticed a girl at ice cream alley with this French braid upside down so we tried it.  Very cute! To the beach, while Dad is working and Andrew tries out the skate park…

  A few different ways to relax.  Melissa was exhasted from her day at the beach and pool. Grilling on the back patio.  Megan found the tea kettle very useful for hot chocolate. 

Next day was boating!  Katie is a good driver.  The girls all took turns out on the tube and then Katie did knee boarding.  She drove the boat while Dad was out on the tube.  It was a little cold that day with some wind but so beautiful on the lake! Andrew spend more time watching TV than I’d like to admit.  The girls got in the hot tub every chance they had…

Everyone relaxed a bit.
