Happy Birthday to Me

So what can I do, I turned 50.  I called Mom because she did all the work… and I get all the attention.  But it was a fun birthday.

Mike bought me beautiful flowers the week before he went hunting and the week after.  So I’ve had flowers in my kitchen for a month!

Melissa made me my favorite cake.  Wedding cake with frosting – all from scratch!  Not sure what happened with the presentation, but it tasted great!

Tammy and the boys sent a big bunch of balloons (all happy, no “over the hill”) and all my kids gave me hugs and birthday wishes. 

I went to Manito Park with Carol and Diane.  Such a wonderful, warm, sunny fall day.  The flower gardens are my favorite place in all Spokane.  So when Diane called and suggested lunch, I suggested a picnic at the park.  Carol made it fun with Happy Birthday tablecloth, plates, napkins and everything - even a crystal cake plate.  We walked around the flowers and had the best afternoon.

Carol had never seen the Japanese Gardens so Diane and I showed her.  And we walked thru the rose garden on our way.    

St Luke’s Women’s Race

I flew back to Boise to attend the St. Luke’s 5K with Tammy.  This is our 3rd year doing it together.  Another amazing experience to be with all those women and feel the energy of Boise.  We are disappointed that our dream to live there did not turn out.

I loved being with the boys.  I didn’t take any pictures of the race but I got lots of the boys!  Tammy’s garden is producing and we ate watermelon and tomatoes and basil.  Very fun weekend!

New Vanities

Megan and Melissa have set up vanities in their rooms.  So cute.  We found a cute one for Melissa on Craigslist.

And then we got creative for Megan with a console table from the guest room that we were not using. 

So the girls have a get ready for the day station in their bedrooms.   we are getting settle back at home.

First Day of School–Again!

How many times do you have to start High School?  Poor Megan….

First Day of CVHS…

Melissa switched to Evergreen Middle School so this is her second day of 8th grade in a new school…

Somehow I have no pictures of Katie.  Life is too busy and too crazy right now.  I’m not sure if I’m packing or unpacking….

Home Again–for good!

Well, you never know what life has in store.  We are back in Spokane!  Our builder, while being very nice, is turning out to be fairly incompetent.  Poured the foundation in the wrong location, wants to charge us to redo his mistake.  After a month of negotiations we decided that he was not the one to build our home and we packed up and came home.  The girls are just in time to start school at CV…  We had to register them as new students! 

It’s good to be home!
