Anniversary Trip to Hawaii!!

Mike and I went back to Kauai' for the second time. So relaxing and warm. We love the charm of this island and the privacy of the military cottages. Such a great way to recharge and celebrate our Anniversary. I feel so lucky to see the beauty of this island paradise two years on a row! Live Aloha!!
Happy 22 years!

We loved a little church in Hanalai, we loved dinner at Shenanigans, loved the sunsets, we didn't do much sightseeing but loved seeing the whales at the light house and from our front porch. We loved shave ice, and fishing on the beach, I loved looking for shells, and sitting on the beach hour after hour. We loved seeing all the chickens and feeding the birds, especially the cardinals that came to our picnic table. Warm and wonderful!!!!

Using the Silhouette!

I was able to make a pretty tile to give to the Young Women with the new 2013 these. I like the way it turned out. Also, Melissa designed a cute Gymnastics sweatshirt - don't tell Northwest Gymnastics.... and we made it custom for her!

I made Bethany a tumbler just like mine for her birthday. I love that girl. I think I had more fun wrapping the gift than actually making it.

Mike's friend from the Marine Reserve Unit ordered some hunting shirts for his group. So we designed a logo for his crew and got them made. Such fun with this machine!

Marine Corps Ball

This year being on vacation at Arrowpoint made it a little different in attending the ball.  We had to travel farther but it was so fun to get ready at the resort in our plush master bathroom, and have the girls fuss about all the fanciness.  We stopped by home to check Annie on the way back to the resort.  There was a big storm that night on the way back as well and it was a very twisting and turning road.  We were glad to get back to the kids.
I always love going to the ball and seeing the beautiful dresses on the wives and girlfriends and seeing the pride in the Marines.  Mike has made some good friends and it was fun to sit with Niki and Brian Robins at dinner.  Sad to think we only have one more year to go to these balls.  We are taking the girls next year and it's at the Davenport Hotel!!!

I found a sleeveless, too short but beautiful sequined dress at Ross and had an idea to make it modest by adding sleeves and lengthening it.  So I bought two and pieced them together.  It was a fun inexpensive project and it turned out great.  I feel like a matrony look is okay for a Colonel's wife.  Oh but I stretched the matron boundaries by getting some totally awesome, howbeit uncomfortable shoes and new jewerly!  YES!

Yearly Hunting Trip

Mike looks forward to hunting like kids look forward to Christmas.  This year we designed an awesome logo for he and Marty,  made some cute shirts, labeled all his stuff.  He looked like a legitimate outfitter!  He went down a weekend early and did some scouting, but he did not hunt.  He didn't want to without Marty.  This year had it's trials because Marty did not draw a tag.  So disappointing.  But they were prepared to hunt other stuff that you didn't have to draw for like wolves, bear, deer.  Just not the big elk they were hoping for.  They hooked up with Mike's friend from the Reserves that builds a temporary makeshift cabin for hunting each year. So they had nice place to stay and someone who knows the area.  So they were soooooo excited.
And.... they got snowed out....  So disappointing!  The weather is out of our control and it just did not cooperate this year.  So they came home after 3 days.  No hunting for them this year.....

Shooting with the Miamaids

Mike helped out with a very fun Miamaid activity.  We went up to the Stewarts and he taught us how to shoot.  Every girl was excited to go.  Kyra Harames won the shooting contest - beginners luck, she had never shot before!  We had a great time!
