Just in Time for a White Christmas!

I love snow.  Everything white and magical.  Everything feels different when it snows.  Like a party, a vacation, a reason to just stay home and play.  I think that it must be the kid in me that wants a snow day from school.  It doesn't always happen so I love the magic of a winter storm that changes the neighborhood when you look out the window in the morning. I remember a line from a preschool poem,
"I love a white, snow-covered world
that last night wasn't there..."

Loving my Hobby!!!

Making things with this vinyl machine is just tooooo much fun!!!  Holidays are the best because that calls for decorations and gifts!  I'm not sick of it yet!

One of my favorite Christmas gifts this year was replacing Megan's Lifeguard sweatshirt from Florida.  She left hers at school and it "disappeared."  I got a plain white hoodie and red HTV and made her another one!
The girls have discovered the fun that can be had with vinyl.  They did their own projects over break.  I love to share this hobby!  Mike even had me replace a Marine sticker that he had on his old truck.  It took me 5 minutes to find it, trace it and cut it out for his new truck.  He was excited!

Photo Shoot with Kyla

Julie has been so busy with her new little girl.  She has almost earned a nursing degree with the amount of hospital stays and health issues that she has faced.  But she has a constant smile on her face and is always so happy.  If anyone ever asks me how Julie is I say, "HAPPY!"
Kyla is in a brace for her hip dysplasia and Jules can't take her out except for doctor visits.  She even has to wait until the visit to give Kyla a bath! She really wanted newborn pics, so I met her down at Shriner's Children's Hospital and we did a photo shoot in the patient room.  For the 15 minutes she was allowed to be naked, we got photos.  Are we creative, yes I think we are!

Surprise Party for Austin

Katie and Austin Folsom are great friends.  (Actually, Dad connects with Austin better than Katie sometimes when they start talking about trucks, guns and hunting.)  So Katie decided to throw a BIG surprise party for Austin for his 18th birthday.  She invited all the seniors, Melissa (friends with Austin's younger sister Savannah) invited all the freshmen, and Megan invited all the sophomores.  They wrote an open invitation on the seminary board and we had about 40 plus kids show up here.  Dad and I had strict rules to provide the food and be a quiet presence in the background....  No mingling with the guests.....

We hid 80 shoes in the laundry room, stuffed the kids in the basement and Katie pulled it off!  Austin was completely surprised.  What a fun night to have the house full of kids.  There were groups of friends everywhere from the kitchen, to the family room, front room, both couches in the basement, the game table.  Kids just want to be together.
