Happy Birthday Melissa!

My baby is 11! Not possible...but true. We had a very fun time discussing all different party ideas (Ninja included) and came up with Amazing MALL MADNESS! We did like an Amazing Race combined with shopping. It was so much fun. We picked up the girls from school and went straight to the mall. It was early out day so the mall was not so busy at 1 pm.

I had written little poems with tasks like buying Melissa lip gloss, trying the lotions at Bath and Body works, riding the kiddie toys, buying candy.... just silly stuff. Megan was the video-taper and recorded them doing their tasks. Then we came home and watched the movie we had made and had cake and ice cream. We were going to watch Mall Cop but the girls just wanted to play.

With the theme of shopping, I made this awesome purse cake and Melissa gave little purses filled with stuff for the gift bags. So girly and fun! And totally easy to plan. Another fun birthday! Melissa and her best friend Kennedy.
Then we had a family party that night with presents and then just played around in the backyard. It was a warm summer night and it was so nice to relax.

Megan decorated the birthday girl's spot at the table. She made things really special for Melissa by setting the table with the birthday plate and getting out a crystal goblet for breakfast and dinner. She bought her about 3 presents and was so excited to give them to Melissa. Sweet sister.

Dad bought Melissa 11 roses. Very sweet.
